Best Things To Do In Bali

Microfiber Travel Towels

I love using these whenever I go to the beach. They are compact and easy to wash!

You should not leave Bali without trying one of their floating breakfasts!

When it comes to fancy and affordable floating breakfasts, I have some great recommendations for you:

  • I had one of my favorite floating breakfasts at Bali Beach Glamping!

Situated at 30 minutes drive from Canggu, Bali Beach Glamping wowed me with their floating transparent table. As in most of the places where you will take a floating breakfast, you need to make a reservation in advance. I paid 300 IDR for a floating breakfast for 2 people and I had a great time admiring the ocean from their private pool. Besides, the place is very spacious, you can take some amazing drone shots.

  • My forever favorite floating breakfast spot: Kamandalu, Ubud

I had 3 or 4 floating breakfasts at Kamandalu and every single one of them was dreamy. Surrounded by lush vegetation, this place has more to offer than just a simple floating breakfast served on a tray (around 675K IDR per couple). They can also prepare for you a floating lunch on a boat (575K IDR per couple)!

Celebrating the flowers is a tradition in Bali. Therefore, you can live an unique experience while taking a flower bath at the Udaya Resort Spa. In 2021, the price for such a flower bath for a couple was  1,400,000 IDR.

Moreover, Bali is well-known for the quality of their massages, so if you wish to try a new experience, you should definitely go for a couple exotic massage at Putri Bali Spa (in 2021, the price for 90 minutes of massage was around 250K IDR per person).

One of the most well-known and charming rice terraces in Bali is the Tegalalang rice terrace in Ubud. There will be an entrance fee for “getting lost” in the rice fields (15K IDR per person).

Another thing you have to try at least once in your lifetime is to swing over a rice field. At Tegalalang rice terrace you can go for the Bali Swing for 150k IDR per person.

Have you ever rode a bike in the sky? If this is something you think you might like, then I suggest you to go to Dvaya Bike in Ubud, or try the one at Tegalalang rice terrace (for about 250K IDR per couple or 150K IDR per person)

If at this point you are thinking “what else is there to do in Bali?”, then you will be surprised that there are a lot of other activities that you can do in the Island of Gods.

In the north of  Bali, you can see the dolphins or even swim with them at Lovina Beach. For this activity we arranged with our accommodation for a guide that took us on a private boat to see the dolphins. The best price we could get was  300K IDR.

If you read my previous section regarding the areas where you can book your accommodation in Bali, then you know that I recommended Kuta for those of you who want to surf for the first time. Due to the size of the waves, Kuta is the perfect place for beginners when it comes to surfing.

On Kuta beach there are plenty of surfind instructors that are willing to offer you private/group lessons.

You can easily talk directly with them and book your lesson, or scroll through the Airbnb and choose one of the experiences listed there.

We chose 7 Surf Bali from Airbnb and in 2022 we paid around 120K IDR per person.

Bali is famous for its colorful sunsets and it’s a shame to miss admiring them during your trip.

There are a few dedicated spots for admiring the sunsets on the beaches in Bali, but my favorite is La Plancha in Seminyak.

La Plancha is a beach restaurant with colorful design, great music and nice staff. There is no particular fee for the entrance, but you have to choose a table and order drinks or food.

Pura Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is one of the most famous temples in Bali mostly because of the dreamy scenario surrounding it.

Built in the 17th century, it is actually a “floating template” in the middle of a lake surrounded by mountains. The entrance fee is 50K IDR per person.

If you are a fan of beach bars, then you are in the right place! Here in Bali you can spend your time on the beach drinking cocktails and laying on sunbeds (mostly in Seminyak area).

I have some great recommendations for you!

  • Palmilla Bali

Palmilla Bali beach club is an iconic spot due to the scenic view of a massive rock formation and their pool with a view to the ocean. There is an 100K IDR entrance fee that you can later exchange for food or beverages. However, depending on the location of your sunbed, you might need to have a minimum amount spent on your order.

  • Karma Kandara

Karma Kandara is an exclusive beach bar having also luxurious beach villas with their own private pool. The beach bar has its own private beach and it is famous for the funicular taking you to the beach. The entrance fee is 650K IDR which includes a 350K IDR voucher for food and beverages.

There are so many activities that you can have in Bali, but one that I enjoyed in particular was the ATV trip with Bali Top Adventure. You can contact them on their Instagram and discuss more about the fares and routes they offer.

P.S. Make sure to be dressed as comfortable as possible because it might get messy!
